More than a century ago, a few determined European farm families settled the area that later became known as Ferndale. Happily, the tapestry of this history is felt and seen still. Here, next to the post office, our candy kitchen and store stays rooted in the customary ways. The sight, fragrance, and taste of handmade chocolates are part of a Ferndale tradition which our confectionery has maintained since the turn of the century. Following the rich classic recipes, we still hand-make our candies in small batches using the freshest and best ingredients available — local butter and cream, real fruit flavors and the finest chocolate. We work them on marble slabs, cook them in copper kettles, and never use preservatives. We hope you enjoy the results of our old-fashioned ways. |

On many weekdays, you can observe through our kitchen window the cooking and dipping of our traditional fare of opera creams, fudges, brittles, and caramels. Click here to see some pictures of our chocolatiers in action! Time has not completely stood still in our Main Street kitchen — we also make truffles, giant all-nut patties, a variety of candy bars, chocolate novelties from lollies to baskets and boxes, and even espresso drinks! We are pleased to make them and share them with you. |
